    Mausam k haath bheeg k sufaak ho gaye

    Badal ko kia khabar k barish ki chah mein
    kitnay buland-o-bala shajar Khak ho gaye

    Jugnoo ko din k waqt pakarnay kay zid karein
    Bachay hamaray ehud k chalak ho gaye

    Lehra rahi hai burf ki chadar hata k ghass
    Suraj ki sheh pay tinkay bhi, bay-bak ho gaye

    Suraj dimag loog bhi iblaag-a-fikr mein
    Zulf-a-shab-a-firaaq k pechaak ho gaye

    Jab bhi Gareeb-a-shehar say kuch guftagu hue
    Lehjay hawa-a-shaam k num-naak ho gaye

    Sahil pay jitnay aab guzeeda thay sab kay sab
    Dariya kay rukh badaltay hi tay-raak ho gaye

    khamoshi main bhi woh baatain us ki

    meray chehray pe ghazal kehti gain
    shair kehti hoi ankhain us ki

    shookh lamhoon ka pata dainay lagin
    taiz hoti hoi saansain us ki

    aisay mausam bhi guzarain hum nay
    subhain jab apni thin shamain us ki

    faisla mauj-e-hawa nay likha...
    andhian meri baharain us ki

    neend is sooch say toti aksar
    kis tarah kat ti hain raatain us ki

    door reh ker bhi sada rehti hain
    mujh ko thamay hoay banhain us ki

    Mausam k haath bheeg k sufaak ho gaye

    Badal ko kia khabar k barish ki chah mein
    kitnay buland-o-bala shajar Khak ho gaye

    Jugnoo ko din k waqt pakarnay kay zid karein
    Bachay hamaray ehud k chalak ho gaye

    Lehra rahi hai burf ki chadar hata k ghass
    Suraj ki sheh pay tinkay bhi, bay-bak ho gaye

    Suraj dimag loog bhi iblaag-a-fikr mein
    Zulf-a-shab-a-firaaq k pechaak ho gaye

    Jab bhi Gareeb-a-shehar say kuch guftagu hue
    Lehjay hawa-a-shaam k num-naak ho gaye

    Sahil pay jitnay aab guzeeda thay sab kay sab
    Dariya kay rukh badaltay hi tay-raak ho gaye

    khailne walay sabb hathon ko mai gurya hee lagti hon

    jo pehna do mujh pe sajay ga
    mera koi rang nahin
    jiss bachay ke hath thama do
    meri kisi se jang nahin

    maang bharo saindoor lagao
    pyar karo aankhon mein basao
    aur jabb dil bhar jaye tou
    dil se utha ke taaq mein rakh do

    tum mujhko gurya kehte ho
